  • Carte Postale

  • woven throws, Elvang, Denmark, 2025

Carte Postale is woven from a blend of recycled sheep and alpaca wool, and this special combination of fibres makes it light and soft. The recycled wool is processed at Elvang’s local supplier in Peru, which means that the wool comes from other productions and would otherwise be considered waste. By pulling the wool apart, the original fibres emerge and new yarn can be spun and woven into new textiles.
The collection of 6 throws has a pattern of two-tone surfaces that meet each other in the middle. The colours run together like watercolours—a soft pink that fades into a bright red, or a blue that brightens more and more the closer it gets to the edge of the throw. . It has been named Carte Postale, which means postcard in French, because its nature and landscape motifs are evocative of holiday postcards received in the mail.
